'Broken Hearted' is a beautiful exploration of the journey of feelings and faith during seasons of loss, grief and brokenness. Originally inspired by personal experiences, but reawakened more recently after the death of a friend in childbirth, this track offers the listener the opportunity to cry out to the Lord.

Produced by Seyi Ayo Israel, the track starts by allowing Jacki’s beautiful voice to shine through, then builds with vocal harmonies and inspirational gospel music.  After the crescendo in the bridge, it returns to the chorus with Jacki’s emotive lyric once again pointing us to Jesus, our faithful companion.  All throughout, we are reminded that we are not alone when we suffer. We can wait in a place of hope, holding onto our Saviour, safe in his embrace.

BIO

Jacki is a singer, songwriter and worship leader based in Derby, United Kingdom.  Jacki loves to use her songs and voice to communicate God’s love to others and to express her faith in God.

Jacki first sang publicly in church around age 7.  As a teenager she started voice lessons and continued singing in church and at school.  Music has taken Jacki to Denmark, Germany, South Africa and the USA over the years and she has sung in a variety of churches, church conferences and concert venues.  In 2016 she sang with Lifted Voices  in the BBC Songs of Praise Gospel Choir of the Year competition.

Jacki’s voice is clear and a delight to listen to.  She invites the listener to journey with God whatever season of life they are in and encourages them to depend on who He is.

Aside from music, Jacki runs The Grange Holidays, a site of seven holiday lets in Flamborough, East Yorkshire and works part-time for a charitable trust.

Jacki is married to her best friend, Jonny.  Together they lead the youth worship band at their church, Reach.  A particular song writing highlight for Jacki has been writing the song she walked down the aisle to and writing songs to and about her children, Isabella and JoJo.
